educational connections

About

The CEC project works with innovative, locally-led initiatives that are focussed on disrupting disadvantage by addressing the connections between communities and education.

CEC seeks to support communities and whanau in their engagement with the education system by:
  • fostering an environment that sets high expectations of educational achievement;
  • facilitating consensus among groups with an interest in education in the community;
  • facilitating the development of shared education goals across the community;
  • encouraging the development of positive learning relationships across the community;
  • supporting the development of advocacy services for families and communities; and
  • advocating for communities to be recognised as important partners in improving education.

The CEC project is proactively funded by the JR McKenzie Trust.
